Lawrence Schaffler from Boating New Zealand recently jumped on board the super popular Hanse 455 to show us around and review her.
Check out the latest video to see what he thought!
Following its 2015 debut, Hanses’s mid-sized 455 cruiser (13.95m LOA) has quickly become one of the marque’s most popular models.
And with eight sold here so far, the yacht’s shaping up as New Zealand’s favourite Hanse.
Take a look at the latest video of the new Hanse 675.
Watch how this luxurious fast cruiser effortlessly glides through the water.
See how easy she is to sail single-handed and take a tour below deck where the chic loft style interior oozes light and space.
And see for yourself why she is being called the new benchmark in the 67 foot class! Enjoy!
Team Windcraft’s Peter Hrones is preparing to fly to Germany for this year’s Dusseldorf Boot. It should be a fantastic show with the two largest Hanse yachts celebrating their German premiere. The Hanse 588 and Hanse 675 both feature clear lines and a completely new standard of luxurious sailing.
And we expect the baby of the fleet the Hanse 315, European yacht of the year winner 2016 to continue to draw the crowds thanks to her innovative design. We’ll give you the full round up when Peter returns at the end of January.
The new Hanse 315 is here at Bayview Marina and Mary was very quick to jump on board. Here are her first thoughts …
“It looks really sporty and fun…and so much sleeker than before. The twin wheels are great and it has a nice shape cockpit.”
Read on to find out what Mary thought about the interior….
Watch this space for her first sail!

The Coastal Classic is a 119nm race from Auckland to the Bay of Islands. Often described as a Drag Race as it can be a sprint for some or a challenging marathon for others….
Wayne Ormandy describes himself as a novice in sailing but he seemed pretty relaxed when we met for a sail at the Tasman Bay Cruising Club, Nelson. His new yacht Phantasea, the first Hanse 315 in New Zealand, is near the marina ramp, prime spot, and moored stern-to so that stepping aboard on the lowered transom is easy.
“It’s proving to be a nice easy boat to learn,” Wayne says. “There’s nothing complicated about it. For people who want to become proficient sailors, it’s ideal because it’s easy to handle but there’s enough performance there to practice with and improve your skills.”
Remember the fun we had at the 10th Pittwater Windcraft Owners’ rally in April? There was an extra special lucky door prize this year, kindly donated by North Sails and one very happy winner – Mike Barry. Mike was presented with the new headsail and wasted no time testing it out on his Hanse 385, Elara. Here’s what he said,
“The weather on Sunday turned out great for our first family sail of the season and I had all these available crew to assist with the headsail change after we had lunch.. There was not much wind when we were heading home & it was all down-wind sailing. It is a very nice looking sail and, if it performs as well as it looks, it will be a great improvement. Looking forward to our first sail in a good nor’easter.”

With my wife and two daughters wanted a well built, reliable and safe, modern family cruiser that sails well and is suitable for shorthanded ocean passages to eventually make its way back to the South Pacific…

Exciting news… the new Hanse 675 is rigged and ready to sail in Germany. The new flagship model from Hanse is already breaking records as the biggest ship ever built by Hanse and Germany’s largest yacht build in series production.
The Hanse 675 combines luxury, style and indulgence on water. Dr Jens Gerhardt, CEO of Hanse Yachts AG calls the new model “a milestone in series yacht building”. We are looking forward to seeing her Downunder soon!
More awards for the new Hanse 315. This time “Sailboat of the Year 2016” at HISWA – the largest boat show in the Netherlands.
Here’s what the independent jury had to say…
‘The new Hanse 315 is a yacht with a good finish, a spacious cockpit, much comfort and surprisingly good sailing characteristics. In short, it’s a hit!”
It was the perfect way to wrap up the Summer as 14 boats ranging from sizes 35 to 54 ft headed down to Safety Beach in the Mornington Peninsula to compete in the second Melbourne Owners’ Rally.
There was an impressive turn out of Hanses, Dehlers and Moodys competing but the main focus of the event was having fun on the water and enjoying the weekend. You can see all the photos and read about the event here.
There were a record 36 boats entered for the NZ Owners’ Rally on 20th Feb. A fabulous collection of Hanses in all sizes competed, as well as 3 Dehlers and 3 Moodys.
It was a beautiful day and there was lots of fun on the water as the boats made their way from South Rangitoto to Smelting House Bay, Kawai. Sundowners, dinner and prizes took place in the Windcraft marquee, set up on the lawn with great views back over the harbour to the owners’ yachts.
You can read all the stories from the event in the Rally Round Up here.

Judged by 11 journalists from 11 European nations. Here’s what they had to say…
“A family-friendly pocket cruiser the Hanse 315 has a seductive hull shape that proves a delight to sail and has the beam for a cockpit and aft cabin space. The 315 stimulates the small end of the new yacht market admirably. Space is apportioned wisely, with standing headroom and a great aft cabin. The Hanse 315 is a highly versatile and impressive new compact cruiser.”
According to the Judges
“The Hanse had a lot going on in 31 feet, starting with two good cabins, one forward and one aft,” said Tim Murphy. “There’s also a full head with a larger separate shower; space in the forepeak not only with a good berth, but also an area where you can sit down and change your clothes; and a full working galley.
And it was a fun boat to sail. So you have a complete package for a couple to sleep comfortably, cook fine meals and even live aboard for stretches at a time.” Read more
Great video of Wayne and Lyn Mc Master’s new Hanse 385 on it’s maiden sail. The name “Roller Coaster” reflects the journey to the final decision to “go for it” and buy the yacht of their dreams.
Port Phillip Bay laid it on with perfect conditions and we love Lyns’ smile as she tacks a boat for the very first time. Our Melbourne Branch Manager – Nick Jones – helped them fly the gennaker during the terrific sail to Martha Cove where Roller Coaster will live.
