The Hanse 455 is the best selling Hanse model around the world. Over 200 have been sold and our Auckland office alone has sold 8 since the first one arrived in the Hauraki Gulf just 18 months ago.
The waiting time is long…But not for #211.. Buy this one and you could be sailing in July. Condition of purchase is that Windcraft displays her at Sydney Boatshow in August – like us – you’ll be very proud of her in prime position at Darling Harbour with the crowds wishing she was theirs.
As this is going to be our “show boat” we have optioned her up to an extra high level! Stylish, modern and striking…
Here’s a quick run down of how #211 is equipped.
Starting in the cockpit – a full Navigation Pack provides the skipper with all the instruments within easy reach or glance. The pod at each helm houses Triton multifunction displays and the two chart plotters. The autopilot control and bowthruster controls are on the starboard side and Fusion Entertainment panel is on the portside coaming.
The wheels are the carbon look alike black Y spoke style – as well as looking good they are comfortable on the hands. Steering the Jefa wheel system is a joy. With the main focus ‘on water fun’, the huge cockpit is cleverly designed to maximise both sailing enjoyment and relaxed nautical lifestyle.
We’ve simply added cockpit cushions, a beautiful varnish finish on the table and of course the hot and cold shower at the transom for those ‘after last swim’ showers on the bathing platform.
How about a BBQ? A Weber Babyq mounted over the bathing platform is a popular choice.
The offer on #211 includes a Bimini for shade but we’ll wait for you to chat to our commissioning team before it’s installed. It is important that the size, height and colour of the sun shades work for you, Some like them high, some like them low – light grey, dark grey or any colour you like – Sunbrella have an awesome range. The dodger could be the high, mostly clear California style or the traditional three bow – you choose.
We’ve selected a comprehensive Cruising Package for #211 so you have all the essential bits and pieces already on board – fenders, mooring lines, winch handles and even a maintenance kit will be stowed in the large cockpit lockers.
Looking forward from the cockpit the teak on the coachroof is a stylish option for a favourite spot for lounging with a book.
With the ropes hidden and protected by halyard covers this is a clean clear space.
In mast furling – if your days of packing sails back into the lazy bag are behind you then you will be pleased that # 211 has Selden in mast furling system. It makes for a neat looking boat, protects the sail from UV and combined with two electric halyard winches makes hoisting, dousing and reefing a simple operation. Learn more about in mast furling.
To complement the in mast system we have chosen the sail upgrade to FCL triradial cut performance sails. These sails have full length vertical battens and extra leech battens so you get a really good shape. Sailing a Hanse is fantastic – and these sails just make it even better – it’s like you can feel the whole sail area and boat as one!
At the bow of #211 you will find the vast sail locker – so big that you can climb down into it. A good place to store “toys” like inflatable kayaks, fishing rods and maybe down the track you will add a gennaker to your inventory. If you have plans for extensive cruising – tell us because for other owners we’ve fitted shelving, outboard brackets, rails etc. All to make stowing gear easier.
In fact the more you tell us about your sailing plans, the more we can do in the final commissioning to make the boat perfect for you. If you are into maximum speed then ask us about the “go faster” hull treatment! And yep #211 has a bow thruster, anchor and windlass with the electric control. And 60m of chain, unless you request otherwise.
Ok – time to go below. Once you’ve got over the light and sheer sense of space, we are sure that you will also love our colour choice!
We’ve gone for a strong but elegant look which teamed with the Hanse clean lines makes for a striking impression – well Mary thinks so…she chose it!
That main bulkhead in the saloon – is not just your average bulkhead…Hanse build this using high tech carbon composite to make it extra strong and safe. More on key features of the Hanse 455 here.
The wood finish is the American cherry wood which is most places is real wood and behaves like it – settling into a rich honey tone over the first 6 months.
A beautiful grain in the wood which is just very nice to look at!
The upholstery is Florence Anthracite – a dark grey with light flecks through it – only on such a light filled boat could this striking combination work so well!
Easy care and stands up to wet cossies and those inevitable spillages….
Add the finishing touches with your personal taste in cushions.
The comfort packs ensures the LED’s, ambient lighting with the clever Hanse light control panel and reading lights in just the right places.
The blind system on overhead hatches and side windows means you can keep the boat cool, or dark for a sleep in and also protect your upholstery.
The entertainment pack has Fusion gear – speakers in the saloon and cockpit, a docking station and Bluetooth. If you want to add a TV – no problem – choose the saloon or v berth. If more than a monitor then we need to know before the mast is stepped so the cabling can be done.
The galley is in just the right spot, handy to the cockpit and not intruding on the open plan living area. As well as the standard fridge with two entries, we’ve added a second drawer fridge. Plenty of galley space with the coffee machine mounted. This boat has a 1600w inverter on board so if you want a microwave or other gadgets – you have the power!
